RAMI SAARI

Hebrew poet Rami Saari was born in Petah Tikva on September 17, 1963, and spent his childhood in Israel and Argentina. He studied Semitic and Uralic languages at the Universities of Helsinki, Budapest and Jerusalem. His doctoral thesis, “Maltese Prepositions”, was published in 2003 by Carmel Publishing House. In addition to twelve books of poetry, Dr. Saari has translated over 80 books from several languages to Hebrew. A linguist and lecturer by profession, Dr. Saari has been working for the last twenty years as a translator of prose and poetry and as books’ editor for several publishing houses. Dr. Saari is a citizen of Argentina, Finland and Israel. He is the recipient of major Israeli and Finnish literary prizes and awards. This page presents Saari’s work in several languages.
